Distillerie Bercloux, located in New Aquitaine and founded by Philippe Laclie in 2000, is responsible for the production of the Lefort Augustin whisky.
Lefort Augustin whisky debuted on the market in 2021. This is a product 100% based on French ingredients, and the distillate matures for a minimum of 3 years in French oak barrels in which cognac was previously aged.
Nose: quite delicate, barley malt, fruity sweetness, apples, butter rolls, orchard fruit, vanilla, a bit of pepper, a bit of cinnamon, apple pie with cinnamon, pear mousse, peaches, fruit cake, woody and cereal notes, fruit lozenges, simple, uncomplicated aroma
Taste: slightly spicy, slightly peppery, quite warming, noticeable young distillate, malt/cereal notes, slightly floral, slightly watery, spices, gingerbread, vanilla sweetness, apple pie with cinnamon, more bitterness over time, more spicy, spiced biscuits, cereals, anise, licorice
Finish: anise, oak, cereal flakes, fruit and cinnamon residue
